BYD's 'Blade Battery' meets Uber's global ride-hailing service, a new chapter in electric travel!

Recently, BYD announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Uber, an international mobility and delivery technology company, planning to deploy 100,000 new BYD electric cars in key markets around the world to further expand the electric vehicle lineup on the Uber platform.

The two companies will work together to promote the popularization of electric vehicles. The collaboration will start in Europe and Latin America and gradually expand to the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, allowing more passengers worldwide to experience a more environmentally friendly mode of travel.

In order to advocate more drivers to choose electric vehicles, the two sides will further consider offering charging discounts, vehicle maintenance or insurance discounts, as well as providing financing and leasing schemes according to the specific situation of each market in the future.

On this partnership, Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, stated: "BYD and Uber are both dedicated to innovation, working together to build a cleaner, greener world, and I am pleased that BYD can join hands with Uber to move towards this future."

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said: "We are very pleased to let more people around the world experience the benefits of driving electric vehicles. When an Uber driver switches to an electric vehicle, they drive longer and achieve four times the emission reduction effects of an ordinary driver. We are excited about this in-depth cooperation between Uber and BYD to enhance the user experience and create social value."

Li  Ke, Executive Vice President and President of BYD Americas, also expressed expectations for this collaboration: "BYD has been promoting sustainable mobility development globally, and our cooperation with Uber is undoubtedly a significant step in realizing this vision. This collaboration marks a new chapter in the electrification of urban mobility, and we look forward to BYD's electric cars providing a better travel experience for more users around the world in the future."

As of now, BYD electric vehicles have spread over more than 80 countries and regions globally. In the first half of this year, BYD has exported a total of 202,318 units, a year-on-year increase of 173.57%. If this growth trend continues, the annual export volume is expected to surpass MG, becoming the second in export volume amongst Chinese brands.
