[PCAuto] At 8:10 a.m. on April 1, a major natural gas pipeline at PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB) near Putra Heights, Puchong, Selangor caught fire. The fire was fierce and caused serious consequences for the local residents.

According to police reports, the incident affected 112 people, with 63 hospitalized. Thirty-seven households in Taman Harmoni and ten households in nearby Kampung Sungai Baru were severely impacted. Fire and rescue department data indicated that 237 houses were damaged, approximately 305 residents were forced to evacuate, and many residents suffered burns or inhalation injuries. Additionally, 225 vehicles were completely burned, with another 174 vehicles suffering from various degrees of damage. The fire has plunged many families into distress, causing not only property losses but also disrupting daily routines and posing challenges to mobility.

Upon learning of the mobility difficulties faced by the fire victims, Chery Malaysia quickly responded to this problem. On April 2, Chery Malaysia (including Jaecoo) lent 50 vehicles to the fire victims for their free use for a month. This act has actually met the urgent demand of the affected residents. For those families that need to work to earn money and take their children to school, these vehicles provided strong support for them in these difficult days, enabling their lives to return to normal as much as possible.

To ensure an effective implementation of the assistance, Chery Malaysia actively collaborated with multiple stakeholders. It cooperated closely with the Selangor Menteri Besar's Office, Selangor Executive Council member in charge of Investment, Trade and Mobility, and local authorities to advance the initiative. Each party leveraged its function to allocate resources, coordinate vehicle distribution, design application procedures, and ensure post-service support. These efforts aimed to expedite vehicle access for affected families while allowing sufficient time for them to develop long-term mobility solutions.

Chery Malaysia has always been enthusiastic about local public welfare. Previously, to assist the development of Malaysian sports, it signed an agreement with the local sports authority, rewarding new vehicles to medalists participating in the Paris Olympics, with gold medalists receiving a Tiggo 8 Pro, silver medalists receiving an Omoda E5, and bronze medalists receiving a Tiggo 7 Pro. In addition, the original Chery factory in Malaysia has launched a service policy, promising to provide substitute vehicles if the vehicle repair is more than 48 hours. This thoughtful policy has won consumers' praise.

The aid to the victims of the Putra Heights fire once again highlights the social responsibility of Chery Malaysia. It is believed that in the future, Chery will continue to take the social responsibility, manufacturing high-quality products and providing satisfactory services for consumers.
