Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i is launched in China, if you can only have one car, it must be it

【PCauto】Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i has been officially launched in China. The hybrid vehicle offers a compelling alternative to purely electric cars, as it operates quietly like an electric vehicle while eliminating the inconvenience of charging. I am keenly anticipating Proton's introduction of L6 to Malaysia, ideally localizing it in a manner similar to their approach with eMas 7.

Galaxy L6 dimensions are 4782 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1489 mm in height, with a wheelbase measuring 2752 mm. Although classified within the D-Segment, its pricing in China is only marginally above that of Proton Saga and presents a more economical option compared to Toyota Vios. Also, it is offered in various sub-models:
60KM Launch Edition: Original price 50,659 ringgit, limited-time discount price 48,823 ringgit
60KM Exploration Edition: Original price 56,777 ringgit, limited-time discount price 54,941 ringgit
140KM Voyage Edition: Original price 58,612 ringgit, limited-time discount price 56,777 ringgit
140KM Exploration+ Edition: Original price 62,895 ringgit, limited-time discount price 61,060 ringgit
140KM Starship Edition: Original price 67,178 ringgit, limited-time discount price 65,342 ringgit

The prefixes '60KM' and '140KM' denote the distances Galaxy L6 EM-i can travel exclusively on electric power, whereas EM-i signifies the presence of a 1.5L engine paired with a single-gear Direct Hybrid Transmission (DHT).
The 1.5L engine in Galaxy L6 produces a maximum power output of 82 kW and a peak torque of 136 N·m, while the drive motor delivers a maximum power of 160 kW and a peak torque of 262 N·m. The 140KM variant supports rapid charging that enable the battery to be replenished from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes.
In terms of battery capacities, Galaxy L6 EM-i is available with options of 8.5 kWh and 19.09 kWh, corresponding to pure electric range distances of 60 km and 140 km, respectively. When the battery is depleted, the fuel consumption for Galaxy L6 is recorded at 3.8L and 3.95L per 100 kilometers, which is competitive compared to many Japanese vehicles.

The interior of Galaxy L6 exemplifies the high-level configurations commonly found in contemporary Chinese vehicles, featuring a 14.6-inch central control display alongside a 10.2-inch LCD instrument panel, rivaling the specifications typically associated with fully electric vehicles.

For those hesitant to embrace purely electric vehicles, Galaxy L6 undoubtedly merits consideration. I strongly encourage Proton to consider the introduction of this remarkable vehicle to the Malaysian market.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
