[PCauto] The public announcement photos for the Changan Mazda EZ-60 application for market launch in China have surfaced. Following the recent launch of the EZ-6, the EZ-60 is the second model produced through the collaboration between Changan and Mazda, with an expected market debut on April 26.
Interestingly, the leaked photos provide key insights into the Mazda EZ-60.
The EZ-60 features a closed grille design, with a logo in the center that has a lighting function. Surrounding the lower edge is a LED daytime running light strip that precisely outlines the grille, enhancing its visibility while showcasing a sense of technology.
The front edge of the engine cover is designed with perforated air ducts aimed at optimizing aerodynamics, ensuring a smoother airflow during driving to reduce drag and consequently improve vehicle efficiency.
The split-type high and low beam headlights are subtly positioned at the sides of the front bumper, providing excellent illumination. Additionally, the lower part includes air intakes for the wheels, and the lower grille features a black lip, giving the overall shape a clear-cut appearance that highlights the vehicle’s sportiness.
The side profile flows with elongated lines, reflecting a distinct crossover style. The two-stage waistline design enhances the body’s curves, presenting a unique visual aesthetic.
In the D-pillar area, a perforated air duct is located at the junction with the window, effectively reducing the vehicle's drag coefficient during driving, aided by design elements such as electronic side mirrors, hidden door handles, and semi-closed wheel covers, which improve the vehicle's range.
The rear adopts a coupe-like design reminiscent of a sporty SUV, offering a dynamic profile. The elongated taillights are connected by a black trim strip, creating a pulling-through design that embodies Mazda's family characteristics. The ends feature semi-circular light strips that are highly recognizable when illuminated at night.
The roof is equipped with a large spoiler, further enhancing the vehicle's sporty appeal, while the rear bumper is expected to feature a broad black trim that echoes the front, contributing to a more harmonious overall look.
The Changan Mazda EZ-60 is expected to utilize the powertrain architecture of the Changan Mazda EZ-6, offering consumers two power modes: fully electric and range-extended.
The electric version features a drive motor with a maximum power output of up to 190 kW, delivering strong performance. It also offers two lithium iron phosphate battery options with capacities of 56.1 kWh and 68.8 kWh, corresponding to a CLTC range of 480 km and 600 km, respectively, catering to consumers' daily commuting and mid-range travel needs.
The range-extended version is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine that provides power to the battery and motor, with a maximum output of 70 kW, while the motor peak power reaches 160 kW. The lithium iron phosphate batteries come in two capacities: 18.9 kWh and 28.4 kWh, with corresponding CLTC electric-only ranges of 130 km and 200 km.
In summary, the Changan Mazda EZ-60, with its distinctive exterior design and diverse powertrain options, possesses strong market competitiveness. After its official launch, it is expected to attract significant consumers’ interest.
