[PCauto] Mazda has recently launched its flagship SUV model, the CX-80. This highly anticipated three-row luxury SUV enters the Malaysian market with a price tag of 331,610 MYR. The CX-80 is built on the Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture platform, featuring a longitudinal engine layout. Its dimensions measure 4,995mm × 1,890mm × 1,705mm, with a wheelbase of 3,120mm, making it the largest SUV offering from Mazda in Malaysia.

For the exterior, Mazda offers five body color options: Melting Copper Metallic, Rhodium White, Artisan Red, Platinum Quartz, and Jet Black.

CX-80 is Equipped with Mazda's Latest Skyactiv-G 2.5L PHEV Plug-in Hybrid System

This system consists of a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor. The gasoline engine delivers an output of 191 PS and 261 Nm of torque, while the electric motor provides a maximum power of 172 hp. The system achieves a combined output of 323 hp and 500 Nm of torque.

Equipped with a 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that supports 65 kilometers of pure electric range (WLTP standard), with a top speed of 195 km/h.

The charging system supports 7.2 kW AC charging, allowing for a 10-100% charge in 2.5 hours.

Chassis Design of CX-80, Ground Clearance 175mm

The front suspension adopts a double wishbone structure, while the rear suspension features a multi-link design, combined with the i-Activ AWD intelligent all-wheel-drive system to ensure excellent handling stability under various road conditions.

The electric power steering system provides precise steering feedback, and the front and rear ventilated disc brake systems ensure outstanding braking performance.

The vehicle weighs 2,342 kg, with a ground clearance of 175 mm, and is equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels and 235/50R20 tires.

Available in six-seat and seven-seat configurations

The CX-80 offers both six-seater and seven-seater layout options, with the six-seater version featuring second-row independent captain's chairs that support heating, ventilation, and electric adjustment functions. The driver's seat comes with 10-way electric adjustment and memory functions, and the front passenger seat also supports 10-way electric adjustment.

The interior is wrapped in high-quality Nappa leather, paired with exquisite maple wood trim, creating a luxurious and comfortable riding environment.

The core of the digital cockpit consists of a 12.3-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity.

The Bose 12-speaker audio system, panoramic sunroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, six USB-C ports throughout the vehicle, and wireless charging function fully meet the diverse needs of modern family travel.

Safety Configurations Reach a Class-leading Level

The i-Activsense intelligent safety system includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, providing comprehensive safety features.

The specially equipped adaptive LED headlights (ALH) integrate three technologies: glare-suppressing high beams, wide-area low beams, and high-speed mode.

In terms of passive safety, it is equipped with seven airbags, including dual front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, and a driver's knee airbag.

Notably, the new car is also equipped with a driver attention monitoring system, which can automatically detect driver fatigue when the speed exceeds 65 km/h and promptly issue warnings.

CX-80 Fills the Gap in Mazda's Large Luxury SUV Segment

The CX-80 directly targets competitors such as the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in the European luxury SUV market, but offers a significant price advantage.

In terms of after-sales service policy, Bermaz Motor offers a 5-year or 100,000-kilometer manufacturer warranty for the Mazda CX-80, along with an 8-year/160,000-kilometer special warranty for the hybrid system battery.

Additionally, it includes 5 years of free maintenance service, covering labor, parts, and lubricant costs, significantly reducing the long-term ownership cost for users.

As the Malaysian government continues to promote electric vehicle incentive policies, the plug-in hybrid vehicle market is embracing new growth opportunities. It is conservatively estimated that 3,354 charging stations have been built nationwide, providing convenient charging conditions for PHEV models like the CX-80. This makes the arrival of the Mazda CX-80 very timely.
