【PCauto】On January 10, 2025, local time, the Brussels Motor Show opened in Europe, with many car brands showcasing their products. Mazda's new energy model, the MAZDA6e, attracted widespread attention.

The MAZDA6e is an important model for Mazda's expansion into the new energy vehicle sector. Its design combines Mazda's classic "Kodo" design philosophy with modern elements. The front grille and headlamp design are unique, creating a strong visual impact. The side profile features sleek lines and a coupe-like shape, which not only looks elegant but also optimizes aerodynamics, reducing drag and contributing to more efficient driving. The rear end adopts a full-width taillight design, offering high recognition at night.

In terms of power performance, the MAZDA6e is equipped with a high-performance 80kWh battery, providing stable power for the vehicle. Its pure electric range reaches 552km, which is outstanding among new energy vehicles in the same class, meeting consumers' daily commuting and medium to short-distance travel needs. Whether driving on city roads or highways, the vehicle's range ensures that drivers don’t need to worry about running out of battery.

From a technical development perspective, the MAZDA6e was co-developed by Changan Mazda’s Nanjing Product R&D Center, Mazda's Hiroshima headquarters in Japan, and Mazda’s European R&D Center. Changan Mazda’s Nanjing plant, as an advanced overseas facility for Mazda, adheres to lean manufacturing principles and Mazda’s global uniform production standards, ensuring the quality and performance of the MAZDA6e. The three R&D teams, combining Mazda’s automotive manufacturing expertise and cutting-edge electrification technology, contributed to the successful development of the MAZDA6e.

The MAZDA6e has already been launched in China, where it is known as the MAZDA EZ-6. Although it is based on a pure electric platform, the MAZDA EZ-6 also offers a range-extended version. The MAZDA EZ-6 range-extended version is equipped with a 1.5L engine as a range extender and a 160kW rear motor. The pure electric version features a 190kW single motor, with both versions using lithium iron phosphate batteries. The top speed of both versions is 170 km/h.

In terms of intelligence, the MAZDA EZ-6 is equipped with a 14.6-inch central control screen, and its vehicle system uses the 8155 chip, integrating control of air conditioning, seats, entertainment, and other functions. Additionally, the MAZDA EZ-6 features a 14-speaker Sony sound system, 64-color ambient lighting, and zero-gravity front seats.

he MAZDA6e is expected to retain similar configurations to the MAZDA EZ-6. The debut of the MAZDA6e in Europe holds great significance for Mazda's development in the European market. With the global automotive industry shifting toward electrification, the MAZDA6e, with its advantages in design, power, and range, is expected to gain recognition from consumers in the European new energy vehicle market.
