On February 26 local time, the 100th Geneva Motor Show officially kicked off, and MG also made an appearance at the show. This is one of the two Chinese car brands participating in the Geneva Motor Show, it can be seen that MG attaches great importance to overseas markets and has an earlier layout. It is worth mentioning that this year is also the 100th anniversary of the birth of the MG brand, which has a wonderful interaction with the 100th Geneva Motor Show in terms of time. At this auto show, MG not only brought new global models but also set new sales targets for the brand.
Zhao Aimin, Secretary of the International Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of SAIC Group, introduced that last year MG's global sales reached 840,000 units, with sales in the UK market alone approaching 100,000 units. It ranks second only to Tesla in the pure electric sub-market in some countries. In 2024, MG's global sales target will challenge 1 million units, which aims to celebrating a century of MG's development with a record of 1 million units.

MG's performance in the Thai market is also quite eye-catching, which has a certain relationship with the MG brand's active and early entry into the Thai market. In 2023, among the top ten pure electric vehicles sold in Thailand, three models from MG were listed, namely MG4 Electric (ranked sixth), MG EP (ranked seventh), and MG ZS EV (ranked tenth). However, looking at MG's global market performance, the main market is in Europe besides the Chinese market, especially the United Kingdom. After all, the MG brand itself has a British origin that is easier to be accepted by British consumers.
At this year's Geneva Motor Show, the worldwide debut of MG3 HEV, equipped with the new Hybrid Plus technology, is also SAIC Group's first product with Hybrid technology. Zhao Aimin said that this is the first time that SAIC Group has pushed this technology to overseas markets and that it will face fierce competition from Japanese car brands' HEV models. The opponents are very strong, but he also expresses confidence in this new car and believes that it will become another global best-selling product following the MG4 EV.

As for the pace of future product releases in overseas markets, Zhao Aimin introduced that within the next two years and more, 14 intelligent electric models will be gradually launched into the global market, which will also be pushed forward based on the experience accumulated by MG4 EV. In terms of conventional fuel vehicles, there will also be dozens of new cars in the future to meet the needs of different market consumers.
