Founded in 1907, originally called the “Detroit Auto Show”, it is one of the earliest auto shows in the world and was renamed the “North American International Auto Show” in 1989. The North American Auto Show which opens the annual car show is fixed to start around January 5th, held in Detroit, the city of cars in the United States. History of the North American Auto Show
The predecessor of the annual North American International Auto Show is the original Detroit International Auto Show, which has a history of more than a hundred years and is one of the longest-established car shows in the United States hosted by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association.
In November 1900, the first World Automobile Expo was held by the New York American Automobile Club.
In 1907, it moved to the automotive city of Detroit. At that time, the venue was set up in Belle's Beer Garden. Only 17 manufacturers were participating in the small exhibition area, and the vehicles were only 33 in number.
In 1957, European car factories finally came across the ocean, and the figures of Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche appeared for the first time, attracting high attention from the American people, and the "king flag" of the Detroit Auto Show was officially raised.
Since 1965, the exhibition has been moved to the Cobo Conference and Exhibition Center.
North American Auto Show
In 1989, the Detroit Auto Show was renamed to the North American International Auto Show, held every January. North American Auto Show can produce forty or fifty new cars every year. Many people are attracted to the car show because, in addition to interest in cars, the car show resembles a big holiday party, with food, drinks, and fun, full of excitement. Michigan has made more than 50 million dollars for each car show in recent years.
