[PCauto] Chery Malaysia has officially announced that the all-new Omoda O5 is now available for pre-order. According to official information, the new car is expected to be officially launched within this month, and consumers can place pre-orders through the nationwide authorized dealer network.
The Transmission System Has Been Changed from CVT to DCT
As a facelift model of the Omoda 5, the Omoda O5 achieves significant upgrades in terms of transmission. The new car continues to be equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged engine but replaces the CVT transmission with a dual-clutch transmission.
This change maintains the maximum output power at 156 horsepower, with a peak torque of 230Nm, and the 0-100km/h acceleration time is expected to be shortened to around 9 seconds, approximately a 1-second improvement compared to the pre-facelift model. The optimization of the transmission system significantly enhances the vehicle's dynamic response performance.
Omoda O5 Adopts a Brand New Design
In terms of exterior design, the Omoda O5 features a completely new front-end design. The slender E5 EV-style arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights, combined with the OMODA lettering running across the front, create striking visual characteristics. The X-shaped front bumper and newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels further emphasize the sporty aesthetics of the vehicle.
The body size maintains a compact SUV positioning, occupying the same segment as key competitors like the Proton X50, Honda HR-V, and Toyota Corolla Cross.
Interior Upgrades Focus on Technology and Comfort
The Omoda O5 is equipped with a 20.5-inch integrated dual-screen system, integrating a full-digital instrument cluster and central control display, with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.

The cabin features seats covered in synthetic leather with added ventilation function, and is equipped with a wireless charging panel, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and a Sony audio system.

Details also include enhanced features such as ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof to elevate the luxury feel.

About the Safety of the Omoda O5
The Omoda O5 has received a five-star safety rating certification from ASEAN NCAP. The vehicle comes standard with six airbags and an L2-level ADAS driving assistance system, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Of particular note is the newly added 540-degree panoramic imaging system, which uses multi-camera fusion technology to provide the driver with a more comprehensive perception of the surrounding environment.
The Omoda O5 is expected to be priced in the range of 100,000-120,000 MYR. This pricing position places it in direct competition with key competitors.
Chery Malaysia has also announced a five-year unlimited mileage warranty policy and has established over 50 after-sales service outlets nationwide to provide comprehensive after-sales support for consumers.
Chery plans to host an offline launch event this month and organize media test drive activities. Potential customers can register through official channels to participate in the new car experience.

Since its return to the Malaysian market in July 2023, Chery's Omoda series has become an important sales pillar for the brand. With the introduction of more new models, Chery Malaysia is building a complete product lineup.
