Method of Preparing Rust Remover

Mix a certain amount of each component hydrochloric acid (30~80g), hexamethylenetetramine (1~10g), sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (1~10g), sodium dodecyl sulfate (0~2g), urea, (triethanolamine), sodium chloride, 6501, TX-10 a small amount, and then prepare an activator mixed with sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, sodium dodecyl sulfate, citric acid, and hydrochloric acid, mix well.

Mechanism of Rust Removal by Rust Remover

After the steel is soaked in this rust remover, the rust remover infiltrates to the surface of the steel along the cracks of the rust layer and impurity layer, causing dissolution and peeling of the rust layer and impurity layer. Various materials in this rust remover adsorb on the surface of the steel, rust layer and impurities layer, forming a diffusion double-layer at the solid/liquid interface. Because the charge carried by the rust layer and the surface of the steel is the same, it causes repulsion, thus causing the rust layer, impurities and oxide skin to fall off from the surface of the steel.

The hydrochloric acid in this rust remover can clean the surface of the steel, improve pickling effect, and speed up pickling. When this rust remover is used in a cycle, to further increase the speed of rust removal and eliminate odor, an activator prepared by citric acid and hydrochloric acid can be added. Citric acid can neutralize iron ions. Hydrochloric acid can increase the energy of the acid.
