Recently, some spy photos of BYD's brand new mid-to-large MPV have been exposed one after another, which attracts a lot of attention. The news that BYD plans to launch a new MPV has been circulating for a while, and there are rumors that this new MPV will be named XIA or ZHOU, but there is no official confirmation.

From the spy photos, the test vehicle is in a highly disguised state, with the front face assembly still incomplete. However, from the few available details, such as the headlights, the styling of the new car is highly similar to that of the Dynasty family, especially the TANG DM-i and TANG DM-p. Also worth noting is that the hubcap of the test vehicle uses the style of Tang, and there is the word MAX at the rear of the car. This combination, combined with the SONG MAX MPV model launched by BYD a few years ago, leads more people to speculate that the new car will be named TANG MAX.

Of course, the current guess about the name of the new car is just a guess. And the exposure of this information under the condition of high disguise of the test vehicle does not rule out the possibility of deliberate action.

From the current situation, the size and positioning of this MPV are definitely higher than the previous SONG MAX, and the wheelbase is likely to exceed 3 meters. Furthermore, it is similar to the positioning of models such as Denza D9, Buick GL8 and Toyota sienna, and the seat layout will also adopt the common 2+2+3 layout of MPVs.

Regarding the power system, there is no exposure of the new car yet. We can refer to the power system of Denza D9. Denza D9 DM-i is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor, in which the maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 102kW. The two-wheel drive model is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 170kW. And the four-wheel drive model has a maximum power of 170kW and 45kW for the front and rear motors, respectively.

As for configuration, there is not much information. We can refer to the configuration performance of TANG DM-i and Tengshi D9. However, considering the positioning of Dynasty Network, the luxury positioning of this new MPV will not be higher than that of Denza D9.
