The Proton X50 has been warmly welcomed in Malaysia, receiving 8000 orders within just one month of its first appearance in June. Proton said that this surge in demand exceeded expectations, setting a new benchmark for this segment of the market, and plans to increase production to meet market demand.

Since its first launch in 2020, the Proton X50 has been the best-selling SUV in Malaysia. What are the differences between the four Proton X50 models that are now on the market?
2024 Proton X50 1.5T Standard: RM 86,300
2024 Proton X50 1.5T Executive: RM 93,300
2024 Proton X50 1.5T Premium: RM 101,800
2024 Proton X50 1.5TGDi Flagship: RM 113,300

1.Engine Difference
The power configuration of the three Proton X50 models is the same, except for the 1.5TGDi Flagship, which has a different power system configuration and boasts the best power performance configuration, evidently preparing for differentiation in high-spec models.

The Proton X50 1.5TGDi Flagship model is equipped with a 1.5L displacement Turbo engine, which is the same as other models. The maximum horsepower reaches 177ps, which is higher than the 150PS of other models. The maximum torque is 130N·m, which is higher than the 130N·m of other models; the conventional system is matched with a 7DCT gearbox, which is the same as other models.

2.Safety Feature Difference
The safety system configuration of the three models of Proton X50 is roughly the same, but only the high-end model of 1.5TGDi Flagship has a full score configuration. In terms of active safety configuration, the Proton X50 1.5TGDi Flagship high-end model has all safety configurations, and has the Blind Spot Info System, Lane-keeping Alert, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Collision Warning features, which other models lack.

As far as passive safety configuration is concerned, the Proton X50, apart from the base model standard model which only has 4 safety airbags and lacks Front Curtain Airbags, the configurations of other models are consistent, and the specific parameters are as shown in the figure.


3. Driver Assistance Difference
The 1.5TGDi Flagship top model of Proton X50 is equipped with an ACC cruise driving system, also equipped with a 360-degree parking camera for the advanced premium models, while the other two models have different degrees of absence in these two aspects.


4.Color Difference
All four models of Proton X50 maintain the same body size, positioned as B-class cars, with a length of 4330mm, width of 1800mm, height of 1609mm, and a wheelbase of 2600mm. It is worth mentioning that the 1.5TGDi Flagship high-end model of Proton X50 has a unique blue color, and the other three models offer four color combinations to choose from, namely white, gray, black, and red.
