Thailand Builds Electric Vehicle Scrapping Management System, Boosting Sustainable Industry Development

On May 08, 2024, Thailand Automotive Institute (TAI) has joined hands with Better World Green to develop an Electric Vehicle (EV) scrapping management system, aiming to respond to the Thai government's policy on promoting EV, as well as meeting the growing market demand.

Dr. Kriangsak Wongwatcharat from Thailand Automotive Institute (TAI) expressed that the institute is dedicated to managing the scrapping of EVs according to legal standard, aiming to reduce long-term environmental impact and improve the effective usage rate of parts.

Ms. Nattaporn Luangwiriya from Better World Green mentioned that her company possesses rich experience in industrial waste management and looks forward to cooperating with the Thailand Automotive Institute (TAI) to jointly develop an EV scrapping management system that fits Thailand's national circumstances.

In recent years, the EV market in Thailand has been developing rapidly, and it is planned that by 2030, the output of EVs will account for 30% of the total national car output. The management of discarded EVs has become an important topic. The attainment of this cooperation will lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the EV industry in Thailand.
