【PCauto】Jetour's all-new model, the Dashing, is scheduled to launch on April 9, 2025. Positioned as a key strategic vehicle for the Southeast Asian market, the Dashing boasts high cost-effectiveness, spacious interiors, and localized features, targeting popular competitors like the Proton X70 and Honda CR-V.

The Jetour Dashing is classified as a C-segment five-seat SUV, with dimensions of 4,590mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,685mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,720mm, offering a significant advantage in cabin space compared to the Proton X70, which has a wheelbase of 2,670mm. Additionally, the Dashing features modern design elements such as hidden door handles and LED lighting at both the front and rear, striking a balance between practicality and a tech-savvy appeal.

For the Southeast Asian market, the Dashing is equipped with a 1.5L four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers a maximum power output of 156 horsepower and peak torque of 230 N·m, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and front-wheel drive. This powertrain aims to provide a blend of fuel efficiency while adapting to mixed driving scenarios in urban and suburban settings.

To cater to varying consumer needs, Jetour will launch two versions of the Dashing in Malaysia: the Prime and the Signature.
The Prime version serves as the base model, featuring a standard 10.25-inch dual-screen setup (supporting CarPlay/Android Auto), electric leather seats, a 50W wireless charging pad, and CN95-rated air conditioning filters, focusing on practicality and smart technology.
The Signature version upgrades to 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, rear seat angle adjustment, and a 360° surround-view camera, further enhancing comfort and safety.

Pricing for the Dashing has not yet been announced, but considering the price range for similar models like the Proton X70, which is priced around RM 95,000 to RM 125,000, the Dashing is expected to continue the trend of high cost-effectiveness. In comparison to its rivals, the Dashing's advantages in wheelbase, standard electronic handbrake/auto hold feature across the range, and premium configurations in higher trims (such as the panoramic sunroof) may be key factors in attracting young families and tech-savvy consumers.

Jetour’s choice of Malaysia as the launch market is closely linked to the country's geopolitical and economic significance. Malaysia is the second-largest automotive market in ASEAN, and the government provides robust policy support for electric vehicles and local production. Jetour has announced plans to commence local assembly (CKD) of the Dashing by the end of May 2025, a move expected to reduce production costs and enhance price competitiveness. In the future, this model may also extend to neighboring markets such as Thailand and Indonesia, further solidifying Chinese brands' presence in the Southeast Asian SUV sector.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
