The new BYD Song PLUS DM-i made its first appearance with fuel consumption of 4.95L/100km

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China issued the Catalog of New Energy Vehicle Models Exempted from Vehicle Purchase Tax (Batch 6). The new BYD Song PLUS DM-i power and battery life information was unveiled. And combined with previous declaration information, the new car is expected to be equipped with BYD's fifth-generation DM technology. The WLTC electric range offers 91km and 128km options, and the energy-deficient fuel consumption is as low as 4.95L/100km, which is an improvement compared to the current model.
From the declaration information, the new Song PLUS DM-i will be equipped with a 1.5-liter engine and a plug-in hybrid system composed of electric motors. Or it may be equipped with a fifth-generation DM technology. The maximum power of the engine is 74 kW, 7 kW lower than the current model; and the maximum power of the drive motor is 160 kW, which is 15 kW higher than that of the current model.
In terms of battery life, the new Song PLUS DM-i will provide a choice of lithium iron phosphate blade battery groups with capacities of 18.316 kWh and 26.593 kWh. The WLTC operating conditions pure electric endurance mileage are 91km and 128km respectively, which is an increase of 6km and 12km compared to the current model. Besides, the WLTC working condition fuel consumption is as low as 4.95L/100km, and the lowest of the current model is 5.3L/100km.
As for appearance, the Song PLUS DM-i overall continues the design of the current model, mainly dealing with body details. The most obvious change is the removal of the "BUILD YOUR DREAMS" logo at the tail and replaced it with a "BYD" logo, which is a consistent direction for BYD's future revisions.
In terms of body size, the new Song PLUS DM-i has a length, width and height of 4775/1890/1670mm, and with a wheelbase of 2765mm, which is consistent with the existing model. And for pricing, as a reference, the current SongPLUS DM-i Honor Edition in China offers five configuration models, with a price range of RMB 129,800-169,800.
