In the latest application image from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, we see the Geely Galaxy's new plug-in hybrid SUV, the Starship 7. This car is actually the rumored Geely Galaxy L5, or the plug-in hybrid version of the Geely Galaxy E5. From the application image, the overall design style of the new car is similar to the Geely Galaxy E5, equipped with the latest Thor hybrid technology, and positioned as a compact SUV. The connection of this car to domestic is via Proton, Proton will use its partnership with Geely to produce and launch the GEELY eMas 7 by the end of the year, which will be based on the Geely Galaxy E5.
Speaking of specific design, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 uses a closed grille to highlight its identity as an electric vehicle. The headlamp above uses left and right through design, but the central light strip is not standard on all models, and it is understood from optional standard items that the entry-level models are only equipped with a black decorative strip.
The side shape is relatively simple, equipped with regular physical door handles rather than hidden ones, and the wheel hub will have three styles. In terms of body size, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 is 4740mm long, 1905mm wide, and 1685mm high, with a wheelbase of 2755mm. The new car's tail is also equipped with through-type smoked taillights to achieve a harmonious design effect.
It's worth noting that in the future, the new car will have versions without sunroof, rear radar, and rear wiper, which is expected to be exclusive to entry-level models, further lowering the price threshold of the new car. The Geely Galaxy Starship 7 is likely to have Geely's latest Thor hybrid technology, with a greater focus on energy consumption performance. Combined with the latest technological achievements installed in the current Geely Galaxy models, such as the new GEA architecture, 11-in-1 smart electric drive, Galaxy Flyme Auto, and large AI models, etc. Therefore, the power performance of the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 is worth looking forward to, and we also look forward to its arrival in the domestic market as a hybrid model.
