The Tokyo Motor Show was established in 1954, originally called the "All Japan Motor Show" (全日本自動車ショウ). Since 1964, its name has been changed to the "Tokyo Motor Show"(東京モーターショー). The Tokyo Motor Show is the shortest in history among the world's five largest car shows, established in 1954, held in the fall of odd-numbered years, with even-numbered years being commercial vehicle shows.
It is the largest international car show in Asia, usually the stage for all kinds of small cars produced domestically in Japan. The exhibition venue is located in the Makuhari Exhibition Center in Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo, which is currently the newest and best-conditioned exhibition center in the world, and the exhibits mainly include whole cars and parts.
