TQ Wuling Bingo EV Malaysia CKD Model Officially Rolls Off the Production Line
Segambut Factory Achieves Transition to New Energy Manufacturing
The Result of the Collaboration Between SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) and Tan Chong Group

[PCauto] Recently, the first TQ Wuling Bingo electric vehicle successfully rolled off the production line at the ISO-certified Segambut factory in Malaysia. This comes just one month after the model opened for pre-sale and was launched in the local market last December, marking the official local assembly of the Wuling Bingo in Malaysia and a key milestone in the progress of the collaboration between both parties.

The Segambut factory, which is responsible for producing the CKD model, is a longstanding backbone of Malaysia's automotive manufacturing industry.
According to Tan Chong Group, this factory had already established a deep foundation during the era of fuel vehicles, producing various high-quality models for the local market with its mature manufacturing capabilities and strict quality control systems.

Now, with the rollout of the Wuling Bingo CKD model, this established factory has officially transitioned from solely producing fuel vehicles to manufacturing new energy vehicles, marking an important transformation from traditional manufacturing to new energy production.
After undergoing upgrades, the factory not only retains its core manufacturing strengths but also integrates SAIC-GM-Wuling's advanced new energy vehicle production technologies, realizing a deep fusion of traditional manufacturing expertise and modern electrification technology.

As the first electric vehicle assembled by this factory, the Wuling Bingo itself has core advantages tailored to the local market. In terms of body size, it has a length of 3950mm and a wheelbase of 2560mm, with a flexible body design that can easily cope with Malaysia's congested urban roads. As for the driving range, the Pro version has a range of 333 kilometers, and the Max version has a range of 410 kilometers, meeting daily commuting needs.
The Max version is also equipped with a 50kW DC fast charging function, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes, providing highly efficient and convenient energy replenishment. In terms of configuration, features such as dual 10.25-inch connected screens and electrically adjustable seats challenge the perception that affordable electric vehicles lack comfort.

The groundwork for this locally assembled launch was laid seven months ago. At that time, TQ Wuling announced its entry into the Malaysian market. The company is a joint venture established by SAIC-GM-Wuling and Tan Chong Group. The rollout of this CKD model marks the substantive implementation of the partnership and signals the brand's official foray into Malaysia's electric vehicle and passenger car market.
The decision to select the Segambut plant as the production base was due to its years of accumulated manufacturing expertise, providing a robust guarantee for the quality of the vehicle models.

Currently, the production line has officially started operations. However, there will still be a period from production to delivery to users.
During this time, the factory will continue to fine-tune the supply chain, and complete the full-process quality inspection to ensure that every vehicle meets Malaysian local production standards.
The official delivery timeline will be announced later by TQ Wuling, and the market is eagerly awaiting further updates.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
