Chery iCAUR 03 officially launched in the Malaysian market, competing with ATTO 3

[PCauto] Chery's electric vehicle brand iCAUR has officially launched its first model, iCAUR 03, in Malaysia, with prices starting from 119,800 MYR.

There are rumors in China's automotive industry that this series was jointly developed by the Redmi team under Xiaomi and Chery. Since the founder of Smartmi Technology (a Xiaomi ecosystem company), Jun Su, also serves as iCAUR's Chief Product Officer, and because the iCAUR brand focuses on high cost-performance and a young market-which overlaps with Redmi's market positioning-iCAUR is jokingly referred to as Redmi's car in China.

iCAUR 03 is primarily targeted at young off-road enthusiasts

With its rugged design, smart technology, and affordable price, iCAUR 03 directly competes with existing electric SUVs in Malaysia, such as BYD Atto 3.

The iCAUR 03 features a ​​squared silhouette, visually resembling a smaller version of the JETOUR Traveller, enhancing the vehicle's recognizability.

The LED daytime running lights are cleverly integrated with the brand's "i" logo, while hidden door handles, five-spoke wheels, and side-opening tailgate further enhance its rugged style.

The interior of the iCAUR 03 is equipped with a rectangular full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch central control screen. The design of its two robust grab handles echoes the off-road theme, balancing practicality with a modern aesthetic.

In terms of safety, its all-aluminum multi-cavity cage body structure provides a torsional stiffness of 31812N·m/deg, combined with battery armor technology, improving collision protection capability by 25% compared to regular vehicles.

The power and range of the iCAUR 03

The model comes equipped with CATL lithium iron phosphate batteries, offering three capacity options: 50.63kWh, 65.69kWh, and 69.77kWh, with a CLTC range covering 401km to 501km.

The rear-wheel-drive version has an NEDC range of 426km, while the all-wheel-drive version offers 418km. It supports 30-minute fast charging (from 30% to 80%).

The rear-wheel-drive version delivers a maximum power output of 135kW and a peak torque of 220Nm, whereas the all-wheel-drive version achieves a combined power output of 205kW and a peak torque of 385Nm. Its 0-100km/h acceleration time is 6.5 seconds, meeting users' needs for daily commuting and light off-roading.

iCAUR 03 is equipped with a wealth of technological features

In terms of intelligent technology, iCAUR 03 comes standard across all models with an L2.5 level autonomous driving assistance system, supporting 540° transparent chassis, automatic emergency braking, and lane keeping functionalities.

The cabin features the i-VA four-zone smart voice control system, complemented by a  ​​9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, and a 12-speaker Infinity sound system, providing a fully immersive entertainment experience for drivers and passengers.

These intelligent features are highly appealing to young consumers, especially the practicality of the 540° transparent chassis in complex road conditions.

iCAUR plans to introduce more models in Malaysia in the future

The iCAUR brand focuses on youthfulness and individuality, with a tough off-road style being a key factor in its differentiated competition.

Chery plans to promote the iCAUR 03 to more than 50 countries globally by 2025, and will subsequently launch the range-extended V25 model and the more compact V21 model to cover additional market segments.
