[PCauto] iCAUR Malaysia will officially launch its first all-electric model, the iCAUR 03 (iCAR 03), in Malaysia on September 9, 2025. This model, positioned as an "electric off-road SUV," debuts with a rugged, boxy design that inevitably reminds people of the classic and square profile of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
However, unlike the high-end luxury positioning of the G-Class, the iCAUR 03 is clearly targeting the mass consumer market, with the estimated prices for the two configurations being 145,000 MYR and 155,000 MYR respectively.

G-Class-Inspired Styling for Young, Individualistic Consumers
From a design perspective, the iCAUR 03 indeed inherits a boxy and neat design similar to that of the G-Class, including vertical front lines, round headlight clusters, and prominent black bumpers.
The front of the iCAUR 03 features a closed grille and hidden door handles, which are exclusive design elements of electric vehicles, combining the classic style with a sense of modernity.
The dimensions of the iCAUR 03 are 4,406×1,910×1,715 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,715 mm.

The interior configuration showcases a design philosophy different from that of the G-Class. To better align with the aesthetics of young consumers, the iCAUR 03 adopts a minimalist style, equipped with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen and a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, all powered by a Snapdragon 8155 chip to ensure system smoothness.

The panoramic sunroof and electric ventilated seats provide good comfort. It is worth noting that the iCAUR 03 features an exposed rivet design on areas such as door panels, a detail that aligns with the rugged interior style of the G-Class.

In terms of safety features, the iCAUR 03 is equipped with a Level 2.5 ADAS driving assistance system, utilizing DJI's pure vision technology. It includes 540-degree panoramic imaging, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping functions. These features even surpass the technological level of the base version of the G-Class.
In terms of the powertrain, the iCAUR 03 offers two options
The rear-wheel-drive single motor version delivers a maximum power of 184 PS, equipped with a 65.69 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, and has an NEDC range of 426 kilometers.
The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version delivers a combined output of 279 PS, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.5 seconds. It is equipped with a 69.77 kWh battery, offering a range of 418 kilometers.

Both models support 80 kW DC fast charging, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes and are equipped with a 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load function.
Although the performance data shows some gap compared to off-road vehicles, as an electric SUV, its 279 PS output is sufficient for daily use and light off-road activities.
For off-road capability, the iCAUR 03 features a front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link suspension system, and offers six drive modes — including modes for snow, mud, and sand.
Although its off-road performance may not compare to professional off-road vehicles, it is indeed more versatile in multi-terrain adaptability compared to normal urban SUVs.

iCAUR Operates Independently from Omoda and Jaecoo in Malaysia
As Chery's electric sub-brand in cooperation with Smart Mi Tech, iCAUR will adopt an independent operating model in Malaysia, separate from its sibling brands Chery, Omoda, and Jaecoo.
The first batch of iCAUR 03 units will be imported from China, but plans for local production are already in progress, which is expected to more competitive pricing in the future. The car is currently available for pre-order with a refundable deposit of 1,000 MYR.

The iCAUR 03 integrates a classic boxy design with electric vehicle technology to provide a relatively affordable electric SUV option in the Malaysian market. While its positioning is far from that of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the similar design language indeed offers consumers a form of aesthetic substitute to some extent.
