After the Jaecoo J7 was launched in Southeast Asian countries, Chery is very satisfied with its sales performance. Therefore, at the upcoming Thailand Auto Show, Chery plans to launch the PHEV version of the Jaecoo J7. Compared to Malaysia, Thailand is a better market for the Jaecoo J7 PHEV.

The Jaecoo J7 PHEV set to debut in Thailand will support a pure electric driving range of 80 kilometers (WLTP), which means that if you use the J7 for your daily commute, the fuel cost will be very low.

The Jaecoo J7 PHEV will be equipped with a 1.5T engine producing 156 horsepower, while the electric motor offers 204 horsepower, giving a combined power output of 360 horsepower and a total torque of 530Nm. This represents a significant increase in performance compared to the standard Jaecoo J7, and fuel consumption can reach 20.41 km/L. With a full tank and a fully charged battery, it can achieve a driving range of 1,300 km.

The Jaecoo J7 already launched in Malaysia is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission, which offers slightly less power.

The Jaecoo J7 PHEV is now available for pre-order in Malaysia. So, is it worth paying attention to this car? Without considering the fact that oil is cheaper in Malaysia, PHEV cars provide a smoother driving experience, making the Jaecoo J7 PHEV a better quality driving option. From the manufacturer’s perspective, PHEVs also contribute to the development of EV cars. Allowing more people to experience the driving experience of electric vehicles will likely make more Malaysians fall in love with EVs.
