【PCauto】Sales data for Malaysia's B-SUV segment in November 2025 has been released. The local brand Proton X50 retained its monthly sales champion title with 2,123 units sold, maintaining its dominance in the segment.
In second place is the Honda HR-V, with 1,504 units delivered. Although trailing the leader, it remains a strong contender, showcasing robust market resilience as a higher-positioned model.
The Chery brand secured the third spot thanks to the Tiggo series (including the Tiggo Cross, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 8), which collectively achieved sales of 802 units. Additionally, its OMODA 5 contributed 267 units, while the newly introduced GAC GS3 and Emkoo added a further 87 units.
Proton X50 Maintains Sales Leadership
The Proton X50 has long been known in the market for its value-for-money proposition. Its combination of features makes it highly competitive in its price range. Whether it's the intelligent driving assistance system or the technological feel of its interior, “these features align” well with local consumers' dual demands for practicality and technological appeal.

As the national brand of Malaysia, Proton's extensive local market channels and after-sales system also provide robust support for X50's sales. Many families consider it a top choice for their first car purchase or as a replacement vehicle.
Notably, despite intensified competition, the X50's monthly sales remain consistently above 2,000 units, which demonstrates the strong alignment between its product strength and brand appeal.

Honda HR-V’s Performance Is Equally Strong
As a higher-priced joint-venture model, “the HR-V's” starting price is approximately RM3,900 higher than that of the X50. However, thanks to Honda's reputation in the Southeast Asian market and its image of reliable and durable products, it still attracts many consumers seeking quality and brand premium.
HR-V's design language leans more towards youthfulness, and its balance of space utilization and fuel economy suits urban family usage scenarios. The launch of its hybrid version, in particular, **has helped** attract a broader audience.
Despite the strong competition from Proton, the HR-V can still maintain a monthly sales level of around 1,500 units, highlighting the solid foundation of joint-venture brands in this market segment.

Chery Brand Shows Upward Momentum
The Chery Tiggo series employs a multi-model strategy, aiming to secure a top-three position in the market. Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 focus on large family spaces, while the Tiggo Cross targets a younger, crossover-oriented demographic. The different models cover a price range from RM13,000 to RM23,400, catering to various consumer segments.

In fact, Chery has been present in the Malaysian market for several years. By gradually improving its channels and localizing its offerings, it has established a solid user base. With new model plans advancing in 2026, Chery is expected to further expand its share in the B-SUV segment, potentially challenging the current leaders.

In summary, Proton X50 and Honda HR-V lead the segment with distinct strengths, while Chery steadily grows its presence through a multi-model strategy, and GAC aims for breakthroughs with differentiated products. With more brands entering and electric vehicle adoption rising, competition in the segment is expected to intensify further in 2026.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
