JamesApr 30, 2025, 10:35 AM
【PCauto】The Omoda C7 is about to be launched in Malaysia soon. Jaecoo Malaysia has released silhouette teaser images of the new model on social media, revealing the distinctive design elements of the Omoda C7.
The Omoda C7 will make its debut at the Malaysia Autoshow (MAS 2025), held from May 9 to May 15, 2025.
As a five-seater C-segment crossover, the position of Omoda C7 in automotive industry will be higher than the Omoda 5. The teaser images highlight its unique X-shaped frameless grille at the front, paired with sleek and elongated lines of headlights on both sides, giving it a highly recognizable design.
Although there is no official information about its size, the Omoda C7 is estimated to be similar in size to the Jaecoo J7, with an approximate length of 4,600mm and a wheelbase of 2,700mm.
Stepping inside, the Omoda C7's interior delivers pleasant surprises. The 15.6-inch rotating infotainment display is eye-catching, providing a 14-speaker audio system. Notably, it has an ultra-quiet VIP cabin that provides noise-canceling headphone-like tranquility, along with massage seats for front passengers.
As for the powertrain, the Omoda C7 is equipped with a Super Hybrid System (SHS), similar to the powertrain of the Jaecoo J7 PHEV. This system combines a 1.5L TGDI dedicated hybrid engine, a front-mounted electric motor, an 18.3kWh battery pack, and a dedicated hybrid transmission. The total system output reaches 360PS with a peak torque of 530N·m, offering a maximum driving range exceeding 1,300km.
Additionally, the Omoda C7 has 40kW DC fast charging capability and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling external power output of up to 3.3kW.
In the Malaysian automotive market, the C7 is expected to be distributed by Chery Malaysia's Jaecoo division. The previously launched Omoda 5 represents a special case, which has entered the market prior to Jaecoo Malaysia's establishment, so Omoda 5 continues to carry the Chery brand identity.
