According to a report by RHB Investment Bank, Bermaz Auto, a Malaysia Mazda dealer, is expected to launch the Mazda CX-60 in Malaysia in the fourth quarter of this year. This car is a five-seat midsize crossover SUV launched by Mazda in 2022, and it is also the first PHEV model launched by Mazda. Currently, this car has been launched in the ASEAN markets of Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

The specific specifications for the Mazda CX-60 entering Malaysia are still unclear, but looking at the specifications of the Indonesian market, the local selling price in Indonesia is Rp1,188,800,000 (equivalent to RM324,000). It uses all-wheel drive, and the power system can be equipped with a 3.3 L inline 6-cylinder engine, 8-speed transmission, and M-Hybrid boosting system. The M-Hybrid Boost (MHEV48) combined with e-Skyactiv G can help to improve fuel economy. According to the three models of Mazda CX-60 listed in Indonesia, there are three types of engines: 2.5pro, 3.3elite, and 3.3kuro. The maximum power of the lower configuration 2.5pro is 138kw, and the peak torque is 250N·m, while the maximum power of the high configuration 3.3 elite and 3.3 KURO is 209kw, and the peak torque is 450N·m.

The body size of Mazda CX-60 is 4740mm in length, 1890mm in width, 1687.5mm-1686.5mm in height, and the wheelbase is 1640mm.

As for the safety system, there is no product differentiation for the three models in Indonesia, and all safety applications are equipped equally. This is believed to be the same safety configuration concept that will be introduced into Malaysia, which is a good thing for consumers who pay attention to safety features. Moreover, the car also enjoys a 5-year/150,000km aftersales warranty service locally, and is expected to keep the same package service when entering the Malaysian market. The price of Mazda CX-60 has not been announced yet, let us keep an eye on its launch in the fourth quarter.
