[PCauto] As the flagship pure electric SUV, Volvo EX90 was created with a lot of effort by Volvo. Built on a dedicated EV platform, this premium mid-to-large luxury SUV measures 5,037mm in length, 1,964mm in width, and 1,747mm in height, with a 2,985mm wheelbase. Its versatile 7-seat configuration specifically caters to Southeast Asian families' demand for spacious and adaptable interiors.

Its exterior carries forward the Scandinavian minimalist design style, with a closed front face, Thor's Hammer headlamp, and an illuminated logo that highlight its nature of new energy vehicle.

In terms of power performance, the EX90 is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing a combined 517 horsepower, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 4.9 seconds. It features a 111 kWh ternary lithium battery pack that delivers up to 623 km of range under WLTP testing conditions. For charging, the vehicle supports 11 kW AC charging, requiring approximately 10 hours for a full charge, as well as DC fast charging at up to 250 kW, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

The EX90 upholds Volvo's "zero fatality" safety vision, equipped with Luminar lidar, 16 ultrasonic sensors, and 5 radar units, combined with NVIDIA's Orin chip to deliver advanced driver-assistance capabilities. Its Driver Understanding System (DUS) continuously monitors driver fatigue. The cabin features Nordico eco-friendly materials (sourced from renewable resources like pine resin) paired with a dual-effect air purification system, aligning with consumers' growing emphasis on health and sustainability.

Currently, there is only one sub-model of EX90 in Malaysia:

  • EX90 Ultra Twin priced at RM442,888

EX90 competes directly with Benz EQS SUV, BMW iX. In comparison, EX90's 7-seat layout and Nordic design make it more outstanding. However, Volvo has established brand recognition in Malaysia (Volvo's local sales increased by 12% in 2023). It is expected that EX90 can capture a certain market share.
