On May 11th, XiaoPeng, a new energy vehicle brand from China, announced an exclusive cooperation agreement with TrueEV in Australia, which officially enter the Australian market. The latter will act as XiaoPeng's exclusive importer, distributor, and retailer in the Australian market, providing brand showrooms and full customer support. XiaoPeng also announced that the XiaoPeng G6 would be officially launched in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2024.

This collaboration is another important milestone in XiaoPeng's process of globalization. To date, XiaoPeng has announced partnerships with dealers in multiple regions, including the UAE, Egypt, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Macau. The XiaoPeng G6, which is entering the Australian market, is based on the SEPA2.0 "Fuyao" global intelligent evolutionary architecture and is the first global model from XiaoPeng Auto that accommodates both left and right-hand driving. It lays the foundation for the continuous launch of globalized mass-produced models. Currently, the XiaoPeng G6 has launched right-hand drive versions in countries like Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, with plans to begin delivery within this year.

Entering the Australian market, XiaoPeng not only opened up a new continent but also marked an important "milestone" in XiaoPeng's 2.0 overseas expansion plan. The Australian market is accelerating the development of the new energy vehicle market, and even plans to levy a "carbon tax" on high-emission fuel vehicles next year. In addition, with the continuous improvement of Australia’s charging infrastructure, the popularization of electric vehicles in Australia has become a reality. Driven by the macro market background, the demand for new energy vehicles in Australia is growing, providing XiaoPeng with a great market potential.
TrueEV CEO Jason Clarke said that he believes the product line and design features of XiaoPeng are very suitable for the Australian market, and this cooperation also marks a "major leap" for local intelligent electric vehicle products. Tang Zhikun, general manager of XiaoPeng Auto's international business, said: "Our cooperation with TrueEV is an important step forward in our global expansion strategy. By strategically entering new markets and providing a range of electric vehicle models that meet local customer needs, we can consolidate our brand and position as a global leader in the field of intelligent electric vehicles."

During the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XiaoPeng Motors, said in an interview with the media: "This year, we hope to expand XiaoPeng's export range from the original three countries to more than twenty countries." Since the beginning of 2024, XiaoPeng's Overseas Strategy 2.0 has been accelerating, with target markets continuously expanding from Southeast Asia, Middle East Africa, to Germany. In the first quarter of 2024 alone, XiaoPeng’s total export sales have reached 61.8% of the total export volume for the entire year of 2023. XiaoPeng officials stated that they will continue to expand in core regions such as Europe, ASEAN, Middle East, Latin America, and Oceania, and establish a new global path for Chinese smart cars in terms of products, smart driving, and brand identity.
