Recently, some details of Changan Automobile's overseas layout plan for 2024 have been exposed. At the same time, Changan put forward its overseas market plan for 2030 during the Shanghai Auto Show last year, which once again became a focus of attention for many people.
According to the disclosed information, Changan plans to launch the DEEPAL, AVATR, and METATANK three brands in the European market by 2024, and at the same time, the DEEPAL S07 will be launched in the European market. Meanwhile, Changan plans to establish a European company this year, start researching production bases, and introduce 6 new energy vehicle models in the European market before 2027 to achieve a sales volume of 300,000 units in the European market by 2030.
Similarly, Changan plans to reach a sales volume of 300,000 units in Southeast Asia market by 2030, while in Central and South America as well as the Middle East and Africa markets, the target is 200,000 units each.
It is worth noting that Changan has already started its layout in the Southeast Asia market and entered a rapid development stage. In November 2023, Changan's first overseas factory was officially started in Thailand, and this production base includes functions such as painting, assembly, engine assembly, and battery assembly. After achieving localized production, Changan Automobile will have stronger competitiveness. In addition, as can be seen from this past April, the DEEPAL S07 performed quite well in Thailand's pure electric vehicle market, reaching the top of the sales list.
Looking back at Changan's overseas market plan at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. By 2030, Changan's overseas market will achieve an investment breakthrough of 10 billion US dollars, an annual sales volume breakthrough of 1.2 million units, and an employment breakthrough of 10,000 people in overseas business, making Changan become a world-class automobile brand. By 2030, Changan will launch no less than 60 global products, including two products with global sales exceeding 500,000 units.
Behind the sales volume targets and product launch targets, a solid and feasible production plan is needed. Changan expects a capacity of over 500,000 units in overseas deployments by 2030. In terms of channels, Changan Auto expects to exceed 3,000 overseas outlets by 2030.
