Honda Element Camper Patent Exposure: Is the Classic Box SUV Expected to Return?

Recently, there is news that Honda has applied to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a patent, which shows a concept car that is very similar to the classic Element SUV of the past. This patent was submitted in December 2022 and was not released until June this year, and it has aroused people's expectations and rumors about the possible return of Honda Element in the future.

According to the patent document, this is a camping car attachment, which can be installed at the rear and top of the vehicle. It has an extendable extension that can extend the enclosed space to the ground, forming a larger activity area. It can be seen from the patent diagram that the appearance of the vehicle used to demonstrate this function is obviously similar to that of the Element SUV.

The Honda Element is a compact crossover SUV that was sold in the United States from 2003 to 2011. It is famous for its unique suicide tailgate and hinged hood design, and it is loved by many consumers for its spacious interior and practicality. However, there has been no successor product for this model since it was discontinued in 2011.

The exposed patent suggests that Honda may be considering reviving the Element model. The new car will retain the classic box-style appearance and practical design, and add expandable camper features to better meet the outdoor leisure needs of modern consumers.
