Recently, we have obtained a set of spy photos of Xpeng's split-body flying car from the Internet. According to previous official news, Xpeng's split-body flying car "land-based aircraft carrier" is scheduled to officially start presales at the Guangzhou Auto Show in the fourth quarter of this year and is expected to start mass production and delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025. The estimated price is in the millions.

The Xpeng split-body flying car "land-based aircraft carrier" is composed of a land unit and a flying unit that can be automatically separated and combined. The land unit can completely accommodate the flying unit inside the car and drive on the ground. The flying unit is the first manned electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft developed for individual users in China. It adopts a distributed electric propulsion system, meets single-point failure safety requirements, and has both manual/automatic driving modes and a 270° panoramic two-seater cockpit.

The land unit is a 4-5 person intelligent driving cabin, and is equipped with an extended-range electric drive system, which can replenish energy for the flying unit multiple times. The whole vehicle adopts a three-axis six-wheel design that can achieve 6×6 all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering and has good load-bearing and off-road capabilities, making it known as the land-based "mother ship". From the current spy photos, the design of the "land-based aircraft carrier" continues Xpeng's familial style, with more robust lines in the rear half of the car body.
