Headquartered in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, Mercedes-Benz AG, a subsidiary of the Mercedes-Benz Group since 2019, specializes in luxury and commercial vehicles. The brand's diverse product line includes consumer luxury vehicles and light commercial vehicles, all branded under the name Mercedes-Benz. The roots of the brand trace back to the 1901 Mercedes from Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and the 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen by Carl Benz, considered the first internal combustion engine in a self-propelled automobile. With a commitment to excellence, Mercedes-Benz is guided by the slogan "the best or nothing," reflecting its dedication to delivering top-notch quality and innovation in the automotive industry.

  • Overview

The Mercedes-Benz EQB is the 7-seater electric version of the Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV, which was first previewed in July 2022. The EQB 350 4Matic is the only model on sale, with electric four-wheel drive capability.

    Power System

Equipped with a front axle asynchronous motor and a rear axle permanent magnet synchronous motor, it provides a total of 292PS and 520 N·m of torque. It is powered by a 66.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, with 0 - 100 km/h acceleration requiring 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 160 km/h. When the battery is fully charged, the cruising range is 388 to 423 kilometers (WLTP cycle), with energy consumption between 18.1 and 19.4 kWh/100 km. It supports 11 kW AC charging and up to 100 kW DC charging, with a rapid DC charging station taking 32 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% battery capacity.

    Body Size

The EQB is 4684 mm long, 50 mm longer than the GLB. The EQB weighs 2175 kg, 470 kg heavier than the GLB 250.

    Interior Decoration

The interior is exquisite with rose gold air vents and metal dashboard decorations. The seat center is rose gold, contrasting with the black leather borders. Large windows provide excellent views, and the interior space is comfortable, particularly the rear seats that are well positioned. The first and second row's legroom is comparable to the GLB, but the GLB's third row floor is lower.

    Safety System

Equipped with 7 safety airbags, ABS, VSC, braking assistance and driving assistance package, including AEB, LKA, ACC, Active Steering Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and 360-degree Camera.

    Fuel Consumption

After the standard "fuel economy" test, the EQB consumes 22.93 kWh in a 101-kilometer trip, using about 30% of the battery, with an overall efficiency of 22.7 kWh/100 km, which is better than the XC40's 25.0 kWh/100 km and close to the EQA's 22.2 kWh/100 km.
