【PCauto】The new BYD Yuan Plus (Atto 3) is now on sale in China. This highly anticipated pure-electric SUV is priced between 115,800 and 145,800 Yuan, roughly equivalent to 598,400 to RM78,600 to 99,000.
Compared to the previous model, Yuan Plus Smart Driving Edition introduces an all-new front design. The revised front bumper and its uniquely sharp-edged, geometrically contoured air intake not only lend the vehicle a more dynamic and stylish aesthetic, but also reduce drag to enhance range. The continuous Chinese knot taillight design, paired with the newly launched exclusive beige color and an upgraded D-pillar trim, results in even smoother and more fluid vehicle lines.
Inside, Yuan Plus features an all-new D-shaped multifunction steering wheel and an electronic column gear-shift design for improved operational ease. A smart driving paddle is provided to effortlessly activate ADAS functions, while a three-point camera integrated above the center of the windshield furnishes essential hardware support for ADAS. The vehicle's interior storage has been further optimized, boasting a total of 24 compartments throughout, and the trunk volume can be expanded up to 1338 liters, substantially enhancing practicality.
Speaking of ADAS functions, Yuan Plus now comes standard with DiPilot 100, also known as God's Eye C, across every sub-model.
DiPilot 100 is equipped with an ACC-S&G stop-and-go full-speed adaptive cruise control system that automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance even in congested traffic. Its AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) system continuously monitors the road ahead and automatically applies the brakes at the first sign of potential collision. The ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control) system combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering technology, enabling the vehicle to maintain a central position on the highway. Moreover, DiPilot 100 integrates ancillary features such as the TSR (Traffic Sign Recognition) system, LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System), and BSD (Blind Spot Detection) system to ensure comprehensive driving safety.
For consumers outside of China, BYD Atto 3 available in global markets is already attracting significant attention. Essentially, Atto 3 is Yuan Plus, and with the launch of Yuan Plus Smart Driving Edition in China, DiPilot 100 will be gradually rolled out across the global Atto 3 lineup. Considering BYD’s global market strategy and the cadence of its model updates, Atto 3 in Southeast Asia is expected to receive a configuration upgrade similar to Yuan Plus Smart Driving Edition within the next 6 to 12 months.
