In the recent Chinese car declaration chart, we got the first glimpse of the brand-new large pure electric sedan -- NIO ET9 soon to be launched by NIO. As the flagship sedan of the NIO brand, this model has a pre-sale price of up to RMB 800,000, equivalent to RM 483,184, and plans to officially start delivery in the first quarter of 2025. It aims to compete with models such as the BMW 5 series, Mercedes-Benz S-class, and Audi A8.
The design of NIO ET9 continues the split-style headlight design of the NIO family. The upper part consists of segmented daytime running lights, unique in shape and tech-savvy; the lower lens headlights cleverly combine with the air intake, adding a touch of dynamism to the car. The overall lines of the body are smooth, adopting a fastback design, which not only gives the vehicle a more dynamic posture but also further optimizes aerodynamic performance. The lidar at the front of the roof and cameras on both sides suggest that this new car will perform well in intelligent driving.

In terms of body size, NIO ET9 showcases its style as a large sedan. The vehicle measures 5325/2017/1621mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of an impressive 3250mm, providing spacious and comfortable seating space for passengers. The design of the rear of the vehicle is equally impressive, with the sky and rear window connected to create a transparent and luxurious visual effect; the through-type taillight design further enhances the recognition of the whole vehicle.

For the interior, NIO ET9 adopts a four-seat layout, with each seat having its own space and excellent comfort. The car is equipped with a series of high-tech configurations, including a streaming rearview mirror, a 15.6-inch AMOLED central control screen, a 14.5-inch rear display screen, and an 8-inch rear multi-function control screen. These configurations not only enhance the technological sense of the car but also bring unprecedented convenience and entertainment experience for passengers.
On the power side, NIO ET9 is equipped with a silicon carbide high-performance pure electric four-wheel drive system, with the maximum power of the front motor being 180kW, the maximum power of the rear motor being as high as 340kW, and the peak torque reaching an astonishing 5000N·m. The new car also uses a 900V all-domain architecture that can be applied to 500V-1000V charging piles, further enhancing charging efficiency and convenience. Additionally, NIO ET9 also carries a self-developed 46105 cylindrical battery, with a peak power of charging reaching up to 600kW, the peak current as high as 772A, the energy density reaches 292Wh/kg, and the capacity is 120kWh. Such a battery configuration allows NIO ET9 to supplement 255km in just 5 minutes, and battery replacement only takes 3 minutes, greatly alleviating the range anxiety of electric vehicle users.

In general, as a high-end large pure electric sedan, NIO ET9 not only has reached a new height in design and configuration, but also sets a new benchmark in performance and intelligence, helping to further enhance the image of the NIO brand. One of its goals is to subvert traditional fuel luxury sedans. In the process of transitioning from fuel cars to new energy vehicles, it aims to grab the market share that originally belonged to Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. So, how many consumers are willing to pay for it? Perhaps we will be able to reveal the answer next year.
