Tesla Cybertruck Debut Exhibition: Expangding the Thai Market

The 45th Thailand Auto Show just ended, and many global car brands have displayed their unique skills at the show, including traditional luxury car brand Porsche, the new power electric car brand Xpeng, and so on. Tesla, as a leading brand in the field of electric vehicles, also brought to Thailand its first electric pickup truck—the Tesla Cybertruck.

Thailand is a traditional agricultural country, and the need to transport agricultural products and other items has led to the sales of pickup trucks occupying a high proportion among many car models. The appearance of the Tesla Cybertruck also shows Tesla's emphasis on the Thai market. On April 6, this model debuted at the Tesla Center Ramkhamhaeng in right-hand-drive form.

This model is expected to be marketed in the United States and delivered in 2025, with a price in the United States of 57,390 US dollars (about 2,110,000 Thai baht).

The design of this Cybertruck model is very futuristic. The  body lines is smooth, and the exterior design uses stainless steel materials, which is easy for body maintenance and cleaning. The ARMOR GLASS of the window part can withstand the impact of a baseball at 112km/h and a level 4 hail impact and also isolate external noise.

Compared to other models, an additional focus on pickups is their loading capacity. According to official data, the Cybertruck has a payload of 2,500 pounds and a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds (equivalent to an average African elephant).

Cybertruck is Tesla's first electric pickup truck, with its endurance reflected in a single full charge that can drive 340 miles (about 547km), and 15 minutes of charging can get 136 miles (about 218km) of endurance mileage.

A large part of the decline in Tesla's Q1 sales came from the impact of new energy vehicle companies in China, with BYD achieving a pre-order volume of 5,345 at the previous Bangkok International Auto Show. BYD plans to launch its new electric pickup truck model this year, apparently competing directly with Tesla in market segmentation.
