2025 BYD SONG PLUS Officially Launched! Comprehensive Range is 1500km!

On July 25, the 2025 BYD SONG PLUS DM-i, a flagship of BYD Ocean Network, officially went on sale. Five models were newly launched, with the official guide price ranging from 135,800 to 175,800 RMB. The 2025 BYD SONG PLUS DM-i has made some detail adjustments based on the old model, the rear suspension has been upgraded to a four-link independent suspension. The biggest highlight of the new car is the adoption of BYD's latest fifth-generation DM, which can reduce the new car's NEDC working condition power loss fuel consumption to as low as 3.9L/100km and full power full fuel combined endurance to 1500km.

Static Review of BYD SONG PLUS DM-i

The 2025 SONG PLUS DM-i still adopts the aesthetic design of the Ocean Network. The overall style is more simple and sporty. The BYD LOGO on the front of the car is retained, and the two C-shaped front lights on both sides. Combined with the droplet texture decoration strip below, it not only widens the car, but also creates a dynamic visual effect of ocean language. In terms of exterior color, the new car offers four car colors: smoky color, time grey, snowfield white, and emblem grey.

The dimensions of the car body remain the same, 4775mm in length/1890mm in width/1670 in height, and a wheelbase of 2765mm. In terms of design, the waistline on the side of the car body extends from the front headlights all the way to the rear taillights, and the skirt line depicts the effect of concave surfaces, making it look very elegant. The new car has replaced with a newly designed 19-inch aluminium alloy low drag hub, which is full of sporty feel, also helps to reduce the drag coefficient, and improves fuel economy.

The C-shaped wide-body design feature at the rear end of the car echoes with the front headlights. Besides, the rear bumper adopts a black + silver surround kit with a progressive bar stripe, which progresses down layer by layer to ensure the consistency with other details. The original "BUILD YOUR DREAMS" logo has been replaced with a more simple and atmospheric luminous "BYD" logo.

In terms of interior decoration, the overall layout design of the 2025 BYD SONG PLUS DM-i remains the same as the old Glorious Edition model. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch adaptive rotating screen, a three-spoke flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel and a crystal material electronic gear shift mechanism. In addition, the interior adds a new black + sandstone beige interior color scheme.

However, the vehicle system has been upgraded to the DiLink 100 operating system. Other features such as direct tire pressure monitoring, 360° panorama imaging, driving recorder, cloud service APP, master driver electric seat, car-borne ETC, mobile phone NFC key, VTOL mobile power station, panoramic sunroof, 19-inch blade rim, electric back door and 12.3-inch full liquid crystal dashboard are standard in all models. In addition, 50W wireless fast charging for mobile phones and HUD head-up display will also appear on some models of the 2025 Song PLUS DM-i.

In terms of active safety configuration, the new car is equipped with the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, which includes an automatic emergency braking system / pedestrian recognition / protection system, traffic congestion assistance / active lane keeping system / lane departure warning system, stop-go type full-speed adaptive cruise system, high-definition holographic transparent 3D panorama image, etc., as well as an automatic parking function, with hardware including 12 ultrasonic probes, close-range camera system, APA controller. The recognition of static and dynamic objects is more accurate, and it can also achieve parking spot detection, orbit tracking, path planning and speed control, which makes the parking process simpler and easier. Other active safety assistance systems also include TSR traffic sign recognition, RCTA reverse transversal warning, LCA lane change assistance, BSD blind spot detection, RCW rear-end collision warning, DOW door opening warning.

The 2025 SONG PLUS DM-i is equipped with BYD's latest fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, in which the 1.5L engine outputs a maximum power of 74kW and a maximum torque of 126N·m, the drive motor outputs a maximum power of 160kW and a maximum torque of 260N·m. With the boost of the fifth-generation DM, the NEDC fuel consumption per hundred kilometers of the SONG PLUS DM-i is 3.9L/100km, and the combined range in full fuel and electricity status is 1500km.

The chassis has been upgraded to a rear four-link independent suspension, and high-end models are equipped with FSD frequency variable damping shock absorbers.

The 2025 SONG PLUS DM-i will offer 3 types of lithium iron phosphate battery packs with capacities of 12.9kWh, 18.3kWh, and 26.6kWh. The corresponding CLTC working condition pure electric range is 75km, 112km, and 160km, respectively. Among them, the 160KM version only needs 17 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% at the fastest charge under 2C fast charge.
