[PCauto]Although XPENG, also from China, is not as well-known as BYD, the XPENG G6 left a deep impression on me. Its chassis handling far surpasses that of the experienced BYD, and its exterior and interior design are also excellent. It can be said to be a strong competitor to the Model Y.

XPENG has always focused on pure electric vehicles, but recently, an EREV (Extended-Range Electric Vehicle) from XPENG was revealed. Last year, XPENG announced that they would launch an EREV, which is likely the one seen in the spy photos.

Although the car's body is heavily camouflaged, hiding many details, the silhouette suggests that this XPENG SUV will be over 5 meters in length, with a wheelbase of 3 meters, and will offer six seats inside.

At a previous launch event, XPENG stated that this SUV is based on an 800V high-voltage SiC (silicon carbide) platform and is equipped with a quiet engine.
Its pure electric range can reach 430 kilometers, and it supports ultra-fast charging, adding over 1 kilometer of range per second. It can charge to 80% in just 12 minutes. Even as a pure electric vehicle, the range of this XPENG EREV is already impressive. For long-distance travel, the car's combined range exceeds 1,400 kilometers.

According to XPENG's plan, this EREV will be officially launched in the second half of 2025, with an expected price similar to that of the Honda CR-V. This shift by XPENG may indicate that cars still cannot completely do without fuel tanks and engines, especially in areas where charging infrastructure is not well-developed.
