【PCauto】BYD is set to unveil YANGWANG U7 on March 27. As the third model under its premium YANGWANG brand, the vehicle will feature BYD’s most cutting-edge technology. One of the standout features is the e-4 Platform, which integrates a four-motor independent drive system delivering a combined output of up to 1305Ps of power and a peak torque of 1584N·m. Official data indicates that YANGWANG U7 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and is capable of reaching a top speed of 270km/h.

YANGWANG U7 also debuts BYD’s Yunlink-Z Suspension System, which replaces traditional hydraulic dampers with highly integrated floating motors. With an ultra-fast response time of just 10 milliseconds per adjustment, several dozen times quicker than conventional active suspension, the system ensures exceptional vehicle stability and body control over different road surfaces, making every drive feel as smooth as gliding over a level surface. Moreover, it supports energy recovery by converting the work performed by the floating motors directly into battery charging, thereby enhancing overall energy efficiency.

In terms of performance, YANGWANG U7 is available in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid versions to cater to diverse consumer needs. The pure electric variant is equipped with a 135.5kWh lithium iron phosphate blade battery supplied by Fudi, offering a CLTC range of between 720km and 800km. It also supports simultaneous fast charging through two charging guns, capable of replenishing 400km of range in just 20 minutes.

The plug-in hybrid version features an all-new high-performance engine paired with a 52.4kWh large-capacity battery, achieving a maximum charging power of up to 210kW and a comprehensive range of 1000km.

The interior design of YANGWANG U7 continues the luxurious style established by YANGWANG U8. The four-seater version adopts a red and black two-tone, dual-surrounding star-ring cockpit design, evoking a warm yet opulent ambiance. The front cabin boasts three independent displays, including a fully digital instrument panel, a central touchscreen, and a co-pilot entertainment screen, complemented by a three-spoke sports steering wheel that exudes high-tech sophistication. In the rear, passengers can enjoy individually controlled air vents, two 12.8-inch floating displays, and an 8.88-inch control screen, alongside a 220V socket, USB ports, and a wireless charging panel for mobile devices. Additionally, the four-seater version comes equipped with an onboard compressor refrigerator featuring a dual-chamber design with 4.5 liters in the front and 5.5 liters in the rear, offering both cooling and heating functionalities.

On the smart driving front, YANGWANG U7 is outfitted with a complete suite of sensors and processing capabilities. It includes a total of 3 LiDAR sensors mounted on the roof and front fender, as well as 5 millimeter wave radars, 13 high-definition cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 2 NVIDIA Orin-X chips delivering a computing power of 508 TOPS. Such an advanced array, combined with robust computational capabilities, enables precise environmental perception and provides comprehensive safety measures.

Safety remains a top priority for BYD. Thanks to the e-4 Platform, YANGWANG U7 can achieve millisecond-level distribution of torque across all four wheels, increasing the success rate of emergency obstacle avoidance by 40% and reducing the likelihood of skidding in rain by 75%. In critical situations, the vehicle is programmed to respond swiftly to ensure occupant safety. Additionally, it features BYD’s self-developed 380mm diameter carbon-ceramic brake discs paired with an electric braking system, achieving a braking distance of just 33 meters from 100 km/h to a complete stop, shorter than that of Porsche 911 GT3.

Beyond the core features outlined above, YANGWANG U7 integrates a host of advanced technologies that embody BYD’s commitment to pioneering engineering. Some of these functionalities are likely to be extended to other models in the future, highlighting the brand’s forward-thinking approach in the rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
